A new bus line, Centrobús, is launching in Mexico City. The service will be 100% electric, operated exclusively by women, and feature universal accessibility. The buses will be equipped with devices for people with disabilities, priority seating, and a kneeling system. A surveillance system will also be in place for passenger safety. The initiative aims to address the complex mobility challenges in the Historic Center, a hub for economic and cultural activities. According to the head of the Passenger Transport Network, Daniel Arcos Ramírez, Centrobús will begin operating on May 8th from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM. It will feature two routes with 33 stops, covering key areas like the Palace of Fine Arts and the Latin American Tower. This project is designed to guarantee dignified, clean, and accessible mobility in the Historic Center of Mexico City.
